    Bird flu confirmed in dead swans in Lonjsko polje

    Following a report of increased wild bird deaths, the Croatian Veterinary Institute received seven carcasses of red-billed swans from the Lonjsko polje Nature Park (Čigoč and Mužilovčica settlements) in the Sisak-Moslavina County, and on 17 November all seven swan carcasses tested positive for the virus. Influence bird, subtype H5N1. Additional diagnostic methods are being implemented to determine whether it is highly or low pathogenic avian influenza.
