    BEZIRK ROHRBACH. Ein erster Fall von Geflügelpest in Oberösterreich wurde am heutigen Donnerstag bei einem Kleinbetrieb im Bezirk Rohrbach nachgewiesen. Es besteht keine Gefahr für die menschliche Gesundheit.

    DISTRICT ROHRBACH. A first case of avian influenza in Upper Austria was detected today, Thursday, at a small business in the Rohrbach district. There is no danger to human health.

    In a small farm with 49 chickens in the Rohrbach district, AGES has confirmed an infection with the H5N1 avian influenza virus in six chickens that have died. On the same day, avian influenza was also suspected in a neighboring small farm with ten chickens and ten ducks. Both farms were closed by the responsible veterinary authority and in one case the remaining animals were killed under official supervision and in the other case the relevant samples were sent to AGES...

          A: 2600 pullets culled due to avian influenza
          Avian influenza has occurred in a pullet farm in the district of Leibnitz in Styria, Austria. After AGES had detected the avian influenza virus type A H5N1 in dead animals, around 2,600 pullets on the affected farm had to be killed.
