    The State Service of Ukraine on issues of food safety and consumer protection (Gospotrebsluzhba) reported an outbreak of bird flu in two regions of Ukraine - Chernivtsi and Odessa. In these areas, the country recorded cases of poultry deaths from the virus infection.

    In particular, in the Odessa region registered the death of more than a thousand heads of chickens and geese, which were kept in households. The diagnosis - "bird flu."

    At the same time when crawling households with. Chertoryya Chernivtsi region, in connection with the death of the swans on the lake of bird flu on January 3, found the death of chickens. After the examination, they also identified the bird flu virus.

    The foci of the disease is taking measures to contain and prevent the spread of avian influenza virus.

    Recall, "bird flu" - an acute viral infection of birds, which is characterized by general weakness, edema, lesion of respiratory organs and the gastrointestinal tract. Influenza sensitive to both domestic and wild migratory birds. The main carriers of the infection are migratory waterfowl. As soon as the relevant disease is detected on any territory, authorities imposed restrictions on the export of birds from that country and shall take appropriate measures to eliminate the disease (quarantine, zoning, disinfection). Avian influenza causes significant economic damage, both to the state and producers.

    Earlier it was reported that in an agricultural enterprise "Druzhba" in the Odessa region due to the bird flu deaths registered in 1099 poultry (chickens and geese) from 10 251 head (4831 hens and geese 5420), contained in a farm.

    January 6, 2017 In the Odessa region veterinarians recorded outbreak of acute viral diseases - avian influenza. As reported by UNIAN in the Main Control Gosprodpotrebsluzhby in the Odessa region, according to the operative information, the disease recorded in the village of Peace Kiliya district. It is noted that in the agricultural enterprise "Druzhba", on January 5 registered deaths in 1099 poultry (chickens and geese) from 10251 heads (4831 hens and geese 5420), contained in a farm.     The specialists of veterinary medicine registered cases of acute viral disease - Avian influenza in the Chernivtsi region, the press service of the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection. According to the report, veterinarians have recorded the death of chickens from avian flu in farms in the village Chertoryya Kitsman district. In total, according to preliminary information, in households in this village contains about 969 birds of different species. In order to coordinate actions on localization and liquidation of bird flu outbreaks State Emergency anti-epizootic commission Kitsman district administration held a meeting and approved a plan of action for the elimination of the outbreak, defined the boundaries of epizootic outbreaks of protection and surveillance zones.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the first outbreak of bird flu in Ukraine in 2016 veterinarians recorded on November 30 in Kherson region. Prior to that, the recent cases of bird flu in the country were registered in 2008 in the Crimea (4 cases).
