02/11/2017 On 31 October, the Veterinary authorities confirmed as positive for Avian Influenza A virus subtype H5 a fattening turkey farm in Brescia province (Lombardy region). At the time of confirmation, 10.221 male turkeys were present in the farm. On 27 October, a slight increase in mortality was observed. Samples were collected after a marked increase in mortality was detected on 31 October and reported to the Veterinary Services.
On the same day, the Veterinary authorities confirmed as positive for Avian Influenza A virus subtype H5 a fattening turkey farm in Brescia province (Lombardy region). The farm had 19,989 female turkeys, at the time of confirmation. On 31 October, a marked mortality increase was observed, together with nervous, enteric and respiratory symptoms.
