Steps have been taken to stop the infection
Two large outbreaks of avian flu have been discovered in the Yambol region. Over 70 000 birds are infected in two poultry farms in the municipality of Straldzha - in the village of Zimnitsa and Charda village. All animals will be killed humanely according to the EU veterinary requirements.
An outbreak of bird flu was discovered in the village of Glushnik in Sliven. It was found in a holding for rearing hens, guinea fowl and pigeons. The disease is confirmed by laboratory analyzes, announced by the regional administration in Sliven, cited by BTA.
Nearly 90,000 birds have been destroyed so far in connection with the established outbreaks of Avian influenza (influenza). The first outbreak of the disease was found in the middle of October in a breeding stock owned by Maple Leaf Poltri EOOD in the village of Stefanovo Dobrich, Dobrich region. About 11,000 birds were destroyed.
The second and third hearths were found in the village of Uzundzhovo, Haskovo municipality, Haskovo district and in the village of Glushnik, Sliven municipality, Sliven region in a private farm - a backyard farm. To eradicate the disease, over 1500 birds were destroyed.
The fourth outbreak was found on 3 November in a breeding farm owned by Alliance Agricol Ltd. in the village of Zimnitsa, Straldzha municipality, Yambol district, where nearly 8,000 ducks were destroyed. As part of the measures to eradicate and prevent the spread of the disease, all herds of laying hens in a holding owned by Millennium 2000 OOD in the land of the village of Zimnitsa were killed. The farm is in immediate proximity to the outbreak found and falls into the 3-kilometer zone where all susceptible animals are destroyed. Approximately 68,000 laying hens were destroyed. Currently, only one outbreak of the Avian Influenza disease on a duck farm is found on the territory of Yambol District.
