This is the eighth outbreak of avian flu, which was recorded this season.
Avian influenza virus was detected in a small farm in the municipality of Książ Wielki. The owner bred there twenty poultry: chickens and turkeys. Service has already implemented the appropriate procedures.
Chief veterinarian appeals to poultry raised not to let range free, and protect farm buildings and feed from access by wild animals. You should also wear protective clothing.
This is the eighth outbreak of avian fluIn Poland so far found eight outbreaks of avian influenza. Apart from Malopolska, also in Lubuskie and the Carpathian mountains.
In the latter province was infected with a virus from the poultry farm in Wapowce k. Przemysl. In it they were kept 72 different species of poultry, including chickens, hens ornamental ducks and guinea fowl.
