    H5N8 virus attacks eastern Poland

    On Sunday evening (December 18), the Chief Veterinary Officer has confirmed the occurrence of the fifth outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza in Poland. This time, the Carpathian mountains.

    Bird flu does not forgive. Despite attempts by veterinary inspection activities on Sundayin the vicinity of Deszczna it appeared fourth outbreak in the infected area, in a herd of more than 36,000 turkeys.

    What's worse, the same day GLW announced a new outbreak in the municipality of Przemysl (Podkarpackie Province). The farm, which stated the occurrence of H5N8 virus had a population of 72 various species of birds, including chickens and hens decorative, ducks and guinea fowl.

    Testing of samples in the reference laboratory for. Avian influenza in the CIP-PIB in Pulawy confirmed the worst fears. Veterinary services implement appropriate procedures to control the disease.
