      SOFIA (Bulgaria), April 2 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's health ministry said on Thursday that the cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the country rose to 449, while the death toll increased by two to ten people.

      The number of recoveries also increased to 25 in total, the ministry said in a statement.

      A total of 167 of the patients were hospitalised as of Thursday.

      The first coronavirus case in Bulgaria was detected on March 8. Bulgaria is currently in a state of emergency due to the virus, as eight people have already died from the disease.

        Sofia. A 81-year-old man from Stara Zagora have died of coronavirus, bringing the total number of Bulgaria deaths to 11, said the head of the National Task Force, Major-General Ventsislav Mutafchiyski, at a regular press briefing at the Council of Ministers, Focus News Agency reported.

        A total of 28 have tested positive for coronavirus over the past 24 hours, Gen. Mutafchiyski said. “21 cases in Sofia, in Plovdiv – 2, Smolyan – 2, Burgas – 1, Kardzhali – 1 and Veliko Tarnovo – 1. Of these, 8 were admitted to hospital, over 390 were tested. The total number of people infected is now 477,” he said.

        The youngest patient who has recovered is 27 years old and the oldest is 81. 179 patients have been hospitalised, 20 of them have been intubated, Gen. Mutafchiyski said.

                      13 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in the past 24 hours in Bulgaria, the head of the National Crisis Headquarters General Ventsislav Mutafchiyski announced at the Friday morning briefing. 5 of these people were admitted to hospital.

                      The total number of Covid-19 cases in Bulgaria rose to 624, which is 2.1% increase as compared to Thursday. 54 Bulgarians have already recovered from the virus. No Covid-19 deaths were registered in the past 24 hours and the number of Covid-19 victims remains 24. No new districts entered the list of Bulgarian districts with Covid-19 cases

                          669 people in Bulgaria have tested positive for coronavirus so far.

                          28 are deceased. 35 people are in intensive care units. 10 people are hospitalized out of these 21 new cases.

                          The increase from the previous day was 3.2%. The active cases are 573. In Sofia alone there are 12 more infected - 9 are outpatients, there are two in Pirogov, one in St Anna. There are three new patients in Kyustendil, two of whom are in Kyustendil, one is in Dupnitsa. There are two in Plovdiv. There are also two in Haskovo and Stara Zagora.

                          No new cases have been identified by the medical staff. 35 people are in intensive care units.
