  • Russia will vaccinate its entire mink population against the new coronavirus

Russia will preventively vaccinate its mink population against COVID-19 after other countries have identified cases of transmitting the virus to these animals, said the interim head of the national fur company.

Ivan Nesterov, the company's interim chief, made the remarks on Monday on Zvezda TV. Contacted on Tuesday in connection with the statements made, he directed the journalists to the Ministry of Agriculture, stating that it is better for this institution to provide official information, Agerpres reports.
In an interview on Zvezda TV, Ivan Nesterov said that the authorities are currently testing the vaccine and that they plan to vaccinate the mink population when the process is completed.
He said the virus had not been detected in minks in Russia and the measure was preventive, adding that Russia had no scientific confirmation of the virus being transmitted from minks to humans.
Rusia ?şi va vaccina preventiv populaţia de nurci ?mpotriva COVID-19, după ce alte ţări au identificat cazuri de transmitere a virusului la aceste animale, a declarat şeful interimar al companiei naţionale a blănurilor.
