Yellow Fever Virus (YFV ) in Brazil: data as of EW 11/2018 (22 March) per MOH
Human cases: 4102 notified with 2150 discarded, 854 suspected, and 1098 confirmed cases with 340 YFV associated fatalities reported by Brazil MOH as of 22 March; Non-Human Primate (NHP) cases: 5248 notified, 1121 discarded, 1594 suspected, 630 confirmed and 1903 "not determined" cases reported by Brazil MOH as of 22 March As in previous season, the southeast with Minas Gerais and Sao Paulo is the mostly affected area. Compared to the 2016-2017 YFV season, the number of confirmed cases and YFV associated fatalities is higher in the 2017-2018 when compared to EW 10/2017 although the number of suspected cases is lower in the 2017-2018 season. The mortality rate varies between 31.3% and 100% (average: 50.75%).
