These are not feral pigs - they are healthy farm pigs that could be the genetic seed stock if disease threatens industrially farmed pigs.

The DNR's Ed Golder said the order only covers wild or feral hogs, that the department identifies as Wild Russians or Wild Eurasians on the basis of physical characteristics. It's this use of physical indentifiers that troubles some who worry the inexact criteria could be used to target other hogs.
