A person in Louisville has died from West Nile Virus, the health department announced Friday.
This is the first West Nile-related death in the city since 2019. The person's age, gender and ZIP code were not released.
Two other people in the city have tested positive for the virus, according to the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness. The virus typically presents greatest risk for people 60 and older and those with conditions including cancer, diabetes, hypertension and kidney disease, among others.
