    Berkeley County student tests positive for tuberculosis

    The state health department confirmed Wednesday that a Stratford High School student has contracted a case of tuberculosis, prompting more than 1,700 pre-recorded emergency calls to parents Wednesday afternoon.

    Letters also have been sent home with 152 students that the school believes may have had close contact with the patient.

    Parents are urged to have their children tested if they are concerned about a possible infection...

    GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCIV) -- There are no active cases of Tuberculosis among the people tested at Stratford High School after a reported case there, the state's health department said Tuesday.

    According to the Department of Health and Environmental Control, 148 people have been tested and returned negative results. Two tests are pending.

    Officials said an additional 18 people were tested Tuesday, including six students, six teachers, three bus drivers, and three other staff members...
