RIVERSIDE ? A University of California, Riverside student recently diagnosed with tuberculosis was in isolation Wednesday, with campus officials offering TB screenings for anyone concerned about exposure to the respiratory disease.

?We don't know for sure when the TB was contracted, but the first symptoms were appearing at the start of the semester,? UCR spokeswoman Kris Lovekin said...

The recently confirmed diagnosis of tuberculosis (TB) in a student prompted officials at UC Riverside to release a campus-wide notice and offer free TB tests to students. According to an email sent out to the UC Riverside community by Vice Chancellor James Sandoval, the student with TB was removed from the general campus population. Approximately 1500 members of the campus were sent emails requesting that they undergo testing due to the probability that they might have made contact with the student...
