nterior Health wants Kelowna residents to be on alert as an outbreak of tuberculosis continues to hit the Central Okanagan.
The agency first announced the outbreak in May 2008.
Since then, 31 cases of the disease have been identified in Kelowna.
The majority of patients are from the city?s homeless population.
While the rate of infection has remained steady in the last three years, Interior Health officials say conditions in the city?s homeless shelters are only fueling the situation.
