- Following the occurrence of cases, the National Zoonosis Programme under the Ministry of Health and Sport in collaboration with the Departmental Zoonosis Programmes are implementing active surveillance through control of rabies outbreaks, regular vaccination in all health establishments, weekly visits to places where domestic animals are sold, emergency vaccination and strengthening in areas where positive cases have been identified.
- Data provided in this report is the last data on incidence recorded by SENASAG. The increased incidence was observed since the first quarter of this year.
- The Laboratories LIDIVET, LIDIVECO and INLASA are national laboratories. The Laboratory SEDES Tarija is also considered as an official laboratory within the National Zoonosis Programme for the diagnosis of canine rabies.
