            • It is a case of imported rabies.
            • The case concerns a puppy imported from Morocco on 1st August 2011, when the first clinical signs appeared (1st or 2 August 2011).
            • The animal died on 7 August 2011.
            • Three cats, which are not vaccinated against rabies, are in the same house and have been in contact with the puppy. They will be euthanized in the coming days.
            • A vaccinated dog was in contact with the positive puppy.

      • It is a case of imported rabies.
      • The case concerns a two and a half months puppy which was taken in in Morocco on 11 July 2011. It was introduced in France on 1st August 2011 without compliance with the health requirements concerning rabies.
      • The first signs of rabies occurred on 1st or 2 August and consisted in a change in behavior. The suspicion of rabies was laid on 6 August 2011, when the animal was isolated. Later, the animal died on the evening of 7 August 2011.
      • The animals in contact with the rabid puppy during the salivary excretion period have been identified: three cats (held in the same house) will be euthanized and a dog (vaccinated) has been placed under surveillance.
      • Humans in contact with the dog during the salivary excretion of rabies virus have been taken in charge by the health services and an anti-rabies treatment has been administered when appropriate.
