    • Total number of cases in 2010: 237

    • HEADLINES
      • The Global Polio Management Team is meeting in Geneva this week and, as a result, there is no Country Support Group meeting and no weekly notes.
      • In summary, 35 type-1 cases were reported this week, one in Pakistan (Balochistan), one in Mali (Koulikoro), and 33 in Tajikistan .

    • OFFICIALLY REPORTED WILD VIRUS CASES ON 25 May 2010
      • Total global cases in 2010: 237 (compared with 474 for the same period in 2009)
      • Total in endemic countries: 52 (compared with 349 for the same period in 2009)
      • Total in non-endemic countries: 185 (compared with 125 for the same period in 2009)
      • Tajikistan : 141 cases (compared with 0 for the same period in 2009), onset of paralysis of most recent case: 08 May 2010
      • Pakistan : 20 cases (compared with 17 for the same period in 2009), onset of paralysis of most recent case: 30 Apr 2010
      • India : 20 cases (compared with 49 for the same period in 2009), onset of paralysis of most recent case: 21 Apr 2010
      • Nigeria : 3 cases (compared with 276 for the same period in 2009), onset of paralysis of most recent case: 18 Apr 2010
