Fargo, N.D. (Valley News Live) The North Dakota Department of health is investigating three cases of Legionnaires' disease linked to a hotel water park in Casselton, ND.
Three people were diagnosed with the disease between July 2018 and January 2019. All reported spending some time at the Days Inn of Casselton before getting sick.
None of the people were overnight guests at the hotel, but they all used the indoor water park.
Samples from the water park were collected on January 8 and 9, 2019.
One of the samples from a spa filter found Legionella bacteria through lab testing. Hotel staff then cleaned and disinfected the spa. Another sample was collected on January 31, and it tested negative.
However, another sample collected on February 13 did test positive for the bacteria.
