    HAMPTON - There's an outbreak of Legionnaire's disease in Hampton with four inflicted with the potentially serious bacterial pneumonia, state health officials announced Saturday.

    All of these cases of the Legionella pneumonia live in the area of Ashworth Avenue between Island Path and H Street, officials said.

    The outbreaks emerged in late July and early August and state officials are actively seeking the source of the infections which usually comes from inhaling aerosol droplets of water contaminated with the bacteria, officials said.

    These sources can include showers, hot tubs, faucets, cooling towers, misters and decorative fountains, officials said. Drinking or swimming in water does not spread the disease...

    HAMPTON ? State health officials on Monday confirmed a fifth case of Legionnaires? disease associated with an outbreak in an area of Hampton Beach and announced that investigators from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will arrive this week to help search for the source of the bacteria causing the illness.

      HAMPTON BEACH, NH ? One person has died and more have become infected in a Hampton Beach Legionnaires' disease outbreak, New Hampshire health officials announced Thursday. The deceased individual was identified as a man who died from pneumonia. Legionnaires' disease is a potentially deadly respiratory infection.

      Twelve individuals total have become infected as of Thursday, officials said. The outbreak was concentrated on Ashworth Avenue between H Street and Island Path. The exposed individuals were in that area at the end of July or early August, officials estimated. Health officials said anyone who visited that area should watch out violent illnesses. Symptoms of Legionnaires' disease include fever, nausea, shortness of breath and chest pain...

        The number of Legionnaires? disease cases tied to an outbreak in Hampton, N.H., has risen to 14 while two residents of Nashua, N.H., have also been sickened by the illness, a state public health official said Saturday.

        The two Nashua residents who fell ill have no connection to the string of Legionnaires? cases in Hampton, said Jake Leon, spokesman for the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services. One person sickened in Nashua contracted the disease out of state and the other didn?t have a ties to Hampton.

        ?It?s just a coincidence,? said Leon, adding that New Hampshire sees an average of 30 to 35 cases of Legionnaires? disease annually...

          HAMPTON, NH ? A fatal Hampton Beach Legionnaires' disease outbreak has been traced to hotel and state officials are ordering its owner to take action. The outbreak has killed one and sickened 14 others. The outbreak was traced to The Sands Resort on Ashworth Avenue, according to state Health Commissioner Jeffrey Meyers.

          The bacteria that causes Legionnaires' disease was found in "multiple sources" at the hotel, including its water system and spa. Meyers ordered Tom Saab, the owner of The Sands, to remove the bacteria and notify current and future guests of the problem.

          The deceased was identified only as an elderly individual. More cases are possible, officials said. The latest case was identified Tuesday, officials said...
