WHEELING, W.Va — Ohio County is experiencing the highest number of tick-borne illnesses in West Virginia, with just under 300 reported cases of Lyme disease.
Howard Gamble, administrator of the Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department, said the situation has escalated to an endemic level.
"It's not if you're going to get it, it's when you're going to get it," Gamble said, referencing a study by the West Virginia Department of Health.​..
