The number of deaths from meningitis in Durango rises to 27

After the massive infections in four private hospitals in Durango, the death toll continues to increase in cases of meningitis, as reported by Dr. Hugo Adolfo Almonte de León, Deputy Medical Director of HG450 at the Health Update press conference.
According to the Ministry of Health until December 19, there are 27 dead people, 75 confirmed cases, 72 women and 3 men; as well as 12 hospital discharges, the latter remain under home observation.
Three patients were transferred to the National Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery in Mexico City in order to prevent complications.
In addition, 187 health workers have had to be hired, including specialist doctors, surgeons, nursing staff, nutritionists and stretcher-bearers.
Monitoring is also maintained via telephone with a special brigade for possible cases treated in the different hospitals of the state.
Special Attention to Victims of Meningitis
According to Engineer David Payan, Coordinator of Special Care for Victims of Meningitis and family members, protocol care has been provided to 545 people who were in the private hospitals that unleashed the infections.
In addition, 219 aids have been granted in diapers and milk, 194 aids in free transportation, 358 psychological interventions to patients and relatives. 22 free funeral support for family members and 2,500 food rations.
What should I do if I was treated in one of the 4 infected hospitals?
If you were in any of the four private hospitals where the infections began, which are: Santé, del Parque, Dikcava and San Carlos; and you have a headache that does not go away with anything, come to be evaluated.
There are two lines of attention that are the Special Attention module located at the General Hospital 450 or you can call the number 618 137 91 41.
