MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) ? A corrections officer who worked at a Muskegon prison died after contracting bacterial meningitis, the Michigan Department of Corrections says, and an inmate has also been diagnosed with it.
The officer worked at the Earnest C. Brooks Correctional Facility, MDOC spokesperson Chris Gautz confirmed to 24 Hour News 8 Wednesday afternoon.
Gautz said the illness started as an aggressive strain of streptococcus and developed into meningitis...
