    Outbreak of Malaria in Mugu infects 16 villagers

    Jul 1, 2018-At least 16 people in Righa, Khatyad Rural Municipality-8 are reportedly infected with malaria, a mosquito-borne infectious disease caused by Plasmodium parasite. Ten of these victims were recently infected.

    District Heath Officer Dr Gyaneshwor Shrestha said the disease outbreak was first reported in Righa village from mid-April.

    Malaria downs 26 people in Righa
    - RAJ BAHADUR SHAHI, MUGU

    Jul 5, 2018-Medicine shortage has affected the treatment of malaria patients at Righa village in Khatyad Rural Municipality, Mugu.

    As many as 26 malaria cases have been reported in the village since mid-April. Many of these patients, including children, have been deprived of treatment.

    A villager said the conditions of Mada Nepali and Nabindra Sanjyal were critical. Unable to get medicines, the two men remain bed-ridden at their homes...
