    Cases of malaria have been registered in our country, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Center (KEELPNO), while 12 municipalities have put in "quarantine" and excluded temporarily (and prevention, according to the Labor Department) to any donation.. According to a report KEELPNO until 11/08/2016 recorded 65 cases of malaria, of which 61 are characterized imported - ie, patients infected in a foreign country.. Of these, 50 were immigrants from endemic countries (Indian subcontinent and Africa) and even eight recorded in immigration detention centers on the islands of B. Aegean. .

    The 11 (out of 61) were in travelers returning from endemic country in Africa. . A total of four cases have domestic transmission signals, namely 2, exposure likely place a settlement in the Municipality of Lagadas Thessaloniki, one in the municipality Andravida - Kyllini Ilia and a Achaia prefecture.


    For this period, as "affected" by malaria areas identified by the health authorities and thus put into constraints donating regions Municipalities Farkadona and Trikala (Regional Unity Trikala), Palama (IP Karditsa), Euro (IP Laconia) Halkida (IP Evia), Thiva (IP Viotia), Tempe (IP Larissa), Marathon (IP Eastern Attica), Western Achaia (IP Achaia) Andravida - Kyllini (IP Ilia) and Lagada and Pilea (IP Thessaloniki) .

    According to the same report KEELPNO, 2015 were recorded 85 cases of malaria (79 imported - six domestic transmission), in 2014 38 cases (all imported), 2013 25 cases (22 imported - three domestic transmission), in 2012 93 cases (imported 73 - 20 domestic transmission), in 2011 96 cases (imported 54 - 42 domestic transmission).
