    Zimbabwe: Malaria Outbreak Hits Karoi
    At least three people have reportedly died so far due to the disease.

    KAROI -- A serious malaria outbreak has hit Karoi town with nearly half of the 400 residents of Chiedza suburb, who were randomly tested for the disease, testing positive.

    Mashonaland West province health officials confirmed that malaria was detected in 190 of the 390 people who had been tested in the town.

    The officials said the figures translated to a 48 percent infection rate in an area with an estimated 5 000 residents...

    Zimbabwe: Malaria Outbreak Leaves Four Dead

    Four people died, while 1 200 others were treated for malaria in Karoi town following an outbreak that occurred in the past two months, Mashonaland West provincial medical director Dr Wancelous Nyamayaro has said. In an interview yesterday, Dr Nyamayaro said suspected malaria cases in the district have gone up to 1 273, with 592 confirmed positive of malaria.
