    Epidemiology Unit, Sri Lanka is mainly responsible for the communicable disease control in the country. It’s main activities involve communicable disease surveillance, outbreak investigation, conducting immunization programs, and conducting research to generate data related to infectious disease prevention and control

    The Ministry no longer reports fatalities, but for the first 15 weeks of 2012 a cfr of 1.6% was established. This gives rise to an estimated 22 fatalities so far in 2014.
