Hanoi has 300 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease

    April 4, 2024 7:21 PM

(Chinhphu.vn) - According to the Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC), the number of cases of hand, foot and mouth disease in Hanoi in the last two consecutive weeks, especially 3 outbreaks in 3 preschools, has been recorded.

Specifically, in the first 3 months of the year, the city recorded 300 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease, an increase of 75 cases compared to the same period in 2023. Especially in the last two weeks, the number of cases of hand, foot and mouth disease began to increase. Initially, there was an increasing trend with about 60-70 cases/week. In the week from March 22 to 29, there were 77 cases recorded, an increase of 15 cases compared to the previous week; At the same time, 3 outbreaks were discovered in 3 preschools, bringing the total number of outbreaks from the beginning of the year to now to 5 hand, foot and mouth outbreaks.

Faced with the increasing situation of hand, foot and mouth disease, the City CDC recommends that for preschools and elementary schools, schools need to increase cleaning of classrooms, toys, students' towels...; Instruct teachers on measures to prevent hand, foot and mouth disease such as: Wash children's hands before eating and after using the toilet; Regularly clean all floors, toys, children's utensils, tables, and chairs with antiseptic solution. Besides, do not let children eat with their hands, suck their hands, or suck on toys; Do not let children share napkins, handkerchiefs, or eating utensils such as glasses, cups, plates, spoons, or unsterilized toys.

For parents, do not be subjective when your child has hand, foot and mouth disease; At the same time, it is necessary to closely monitor the progression of the disease.

When children have the following signs, they need to be hospitalized to avoid serious complications such as: Children have high fever that does not respond to treatment; You can have a fever above 38.5 degrees Celsius continuously for more than 48 hours and the antipyretic paracetamol has no effect. The second is that the child gets startled a lot and the third is that the child cries persistently.

When seeing a child with hand, foot and mouth disease, parents need to take the child to the doctor as soon as possible to determine the severity of the disease and have the most appropriate treatment regimen.

Theo Trung tâm Kiểm soát bệnh tật (CDC) Hà Nội, số ca mắc tay chân miệng tại Hà Nội trong hai tuần gần đây liên tiếp, đặc biệt đã ghi nhận 3 ổ dịch tại 3 trường mầm non.
