    HFMD cases top 1,500 mark

    CASES of hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) in the Philippines rose more than three-fold in the first eight months of 2015 compared to the same period last year.

    According to the Department of Health (DOH), a total of 1,561 HFMD cases were reported from January 1 to September 5, up 336 percent from 358 cases in 2014.

    Most of the cases were from Region 4-A with 23.6 percent; Region 6 with 21.1 percent; Metro Manila with 13.9 percent; Region 2 with 10.4 percent; and Region 10 with seven percent...

    HFMD cases near 2,000 mark

    ASIDE from dengue, cases of hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) continue to increase this year, the Department of Health (DOH) said.

    The DOH ? Epidemiology Bureau said there are already 1,867 recorded HFMD cases from January 1 to September 19, up 387.5 percent from 383 cases reported over the same period last year.

    Majority of the cases were found in the Calabarzon with 23.9 percent; Western Visayas with 23.4 percent; National Capital Region with 12.4 percent; Cagayan Valley with 9.2 percent; and Northern Mindanao with 6.1 percent...

      The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday reported a surge in HFMD cases in the country during the past first 10 months of the year.

      Data furnished by the Disease Surveillance Report of DOH-Epidemiology Bureau (DOH-EB) showed that some 2,801 HFMD cases were recorded nationwide from Jan. 1 to Oct. 31 this year, up 536.59 percent from 440 cases during the same period last year...
