Vermont Health Department confirms first Eastern equine encephalitis death since 2012

WATERBURY, Vt. (MyCV) — A Chittenden County resident has died of Eastern equine encephalitis, the Vermont Department of Health said Thursday.
The man was in his late 70s, and is the first to die from EEE in Vermont since 2012. He was reportedly hospitalized in late August and died in September...
...Vermont’s total count of confirmed human EEE cases this year is now two. The first recorded person with EEE this year was confirmed in August and has recovered.
