Number of people infected with tick-borne encephalitis increases 6.8% this year
RIGA, Oct 8 (LETA) - By October 7, the number of people infected with tick-borne encephalitis in Latvia this year has increased by 6.8 percent as compared to 2018, according to the Center for Disease Prevention and Control.
232 tick-borne encephalitis cases were registered by October 7 last year, while this year a total of 248 cases have been registered, said the Disease Prevention and Control Center.
In turn, the number of people infected with Lyme disease has decreased this year. Last year, 412 cases of Lyme disease were registered, while this year the number has decreased 9.2 percent or 38 cases...
