    Panama adds 4,887 cases of dengue

    Panama. The Department of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) confirmed 4,887 cases of dengue, until epidemiological week No.35.

    The Ministry of Health of Panama (Minsa) reported this morning that through the Department of Epidemiology that to date a total of 970 cases of leishmaniasis and 4,254 of malaria have been registered in the country accumulated, for which operations and surveillance have been reinforced in the 15 health regions.

    The report also revealed that there are 5,222 cases of dengue with 2 deaths, 3 of Zika and 2 of Chikungunya.

    Hantavirus cases

    While a total of 39 cases of hantavirus disease are reported, of which 15 have hanta fever and 24 have been detected with Hantavirus Cardiopulmonary Syndrome (HPS); 1 death is recorded.

    Finally, Epidemiology reiterated that to date Panama has reached a total of 13 confirmed cases of monkeypox, of which 12 have completed their isolation.

        Minsa reports 6,108 cases of dengue; 4,569 from malaria and 43 from hantavirus

        The Department of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health ( Minsa ) of Panama has asked citizens not to lower their guard against zoonotic diseases, and reported that it has reinforced operations and surveillance in the 15 health regions of the country.

        According to a new report issued by the Department of Epidemiology, 6,108 cases of dengue have been registered in the country to date, of these 5,476 are without warning signs, 617 with warning signs and 15 serious.

        The report also indicates that there are 4,569 cases of malaria; 1,037 of leishmaniasis; 3 of zika and 2 cases of chikungunya...

        ...There are 43 confirmed cases of hantavirus, 18 have suffered from fever, 25 have cardiopulmonary syndrome and two have died.

        On the other hand, the Minsa reported 998,320 accumulated cases of covid-19 and 16 cases of monkeypox.

          Panama registers 121 cases of dengue and 32 of malaria

          The Ministry of Health (Minsa) of Panama reported that a total of 121 cases of dengue have been registered in this epidemiological week.

          Through a statement, the Minsa detailed that with these new cases, 6,579 are counted so far in 2022; Of the total, 5,917 are without warning signs, 647 with warning signs and 15 are serious cases, of which three have died.

          The entity indicated that currently 17 people are hospitalized for dengue, of which 10 were admitted this week; two of them are from Herrera, two from San Miguelito, two from Panama Metro, one from Panama North and the rest are from other sectors. While six of the serious cases correspond to West Panama, four to the metropolitan region, three to San Miguelito, one to Colón and one to the Ngäbe-Buglé Comarca.

          The statement details that so far this year, the Metropolitan region is the one that has recorded the most hospitalizations for this disease with 168, which represents 28% nationwide.

          malaria cases

          The epidemiology department explained that to date 98 cases have been reported, of which 32 correspond to the current week for a total of 4,863 cases.

          In 14 of the 15 Health regions, cases of malaria have been detected so far this year, compared to the period prior to the same date, there are twice as many cases this year, indicates the epidemiology report.

          The number of confirmed cases by region are: Guna Yala 1,865 cases. East Panama with 1,007, Darién with 921, Ngäbe-Buglé Comarca 670. North Panama 125, Panama Metro 82 and Bocas del Toro has 70.

          It is followed by Panamá Oeste 51, Chiriquí 25, Veraguas 21, Colón 12, San Miguelito 9, Los Santos 3 and Coclé 2 cases.

          No case of malaria has been reported in the Herrera region.
