    DOH: Dengue cases increase by 190%

    MANILA, Philippines — Up to 201,509 dengue cases were recorded in the country from Jan. 1 to Nov. 12, the Department of Health (DOH) reported yesterday.

    The latest DOH Disease Surveillance Report showed the cases were 190 percent higher compared to the 69,505 reported during the same period last year.

    Central Luzon logged the highest number of cases with 40,011; National Capital Region, 23,330 and Calabarzon, 17,046.

    Cagayan Valley recorded the highest increase in cases at 1,607 percent or from 979 to 16,712; Zamboanga peninsula, 814 percent or from 1,037 to 9,478, and Caraga, 644 percent from 574 to 4,270...

        MANILA, Philippines— Dengue cases in the country have breached the 200,000 mark, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

        The latest disease surveillance report of the DOH showed that 213,277 dengue cases were reported from Jan. 1 to Nov. 26.

        The cases were 182 percent higher compared to the 75,529 reported during the same period last year.

        The National Capital Region has the highest number of cases with 24,965 followed by Central Luzon, 42,238, and Calabarzon, 18,589...

          Philippines logs 220,705 dengue cases in 2022

          MANILA, Philippines — Over 220,000 dengue cases were recorded in the country last year, health officials reported yesterday.

          Data from the Department of Health (DOH)’s Disease Surveillance Report showed there were 220,705 dengue cases recorded from Jan. 1 to Dec. 17, 2022.

          The figure is 182 percent higher than the 78,223 cases reported during the same period in 2021.

          Central Luzon logged the highest number of dengue cases with 44,030. It was followed by the National Capital Region with 25,855 and Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) with 19,374 cases.

          Regions that recorded the highest increase compared in 2021 were Cagayan Valley with 1,168 percent from 1,428 to 18,107 cases; Zamboanga peninsula, 742 percent from 1,218 to 10,250 and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao with 630 percent or from 697 to 5,086 cases...
