    Health Minister warns of dengue virus spread, calls for preventive measures

    RAWALPINDI, Sep 21 (APP): Punjab Minister for Primary and Secondary Health, Dr Yasmeen Rashid on Tuesday advised the public to take all possible precautionary measures as the number of dengue cases were increasing in the province with each passing day.

    “So far around 605 cases with positive tests of dengue virus have been reported in different parts of the province,” she said while addressing a news conference here at the Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH)...

    1173 cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever reported in KP this season

    PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reported 1173 cases of dengue fever during this season.

    RAWALPINDI:

    At least 25 more dengue positive patients landed in Rawalpindi hospitals during the last 24 hours, taking the total toll of suspected patients to 185 in the district.

    A total of 47 patients were admitted to the Benazir Bhutto Hospital, 35 to the Holy Family Hospital and 12 to the district headquarters hospital

    Health authorities have decided to increase the number of beds owing to the influx of new dengue patients.

    Medical experts have advised the citizens of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad to take special preventive measures to protect them from the dengue virus...

      Punjab hospitals witness patients hit by vector-borne diseases

      LAHORE: The leading medical experts of the city say that patients with multiple complications are visiting public and private hospitals of the provincial capital and rest of Punjab.

      These days, they say, the vector-borne diseases, including malaria and dengue, are dominating other illnesses in Punjab.

      The patients of typhoid are also increasing with visible signs of outbreak of the disease, the medical practitioners say.

      They say Lahore has been witnessing for the last three weeks or so outbreak of infectious disease (typhoid), making the doctors and physicians too difficult to properly diagnose and treat the patients for the above-mentioned each disease...

        463 new cases of dengue fever reported in Punjab in 24 hours

        LAHORE: Punjab on Monday reported 463 new infections of the mosquito-borne dengue virus disease in the last 24-hour period, ARY News reported.

        Provincial health secretary, Imran Sikandar Baloch, has said that yesterday 365 dengue fever cases were reported in Lahore.

        Yesterday the viral disease claimed two lives in Punjab increasing the death toll by dengue fever in this season to 32. Both patients died by the virus disease belong to Lahore.

        Punjab has so far reported 10,258 dengue hemorrhagic fever cases in the current season, health secretary said.

        Most cases of the disease, 7,005, have been reported in Lahore, secretary health said...
