    The government on Wednesday confirmed that 98 people died from dengue since January, reports UNB.

    The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research has reviewed 158 cases out of 246 suspected dengue deaths.

    Bangladesh has been grappling with a massive outbreak of the mosquito-borne disease with 92,750 people hospitalised since the beginning of the year...

      DHAKA, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- At least 104 people have died of Dengue fever across Bangladesh so far this year, health department figures showed Monday.

      According to the latest figure reported by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) under the Ministry of Health, the deaths included two in April, six in June, 35 in July, 57 in August and four last month.

      DGHS said after reviewing 166 deaths, the government's Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) confirmed 104 dengue deaths so far.

      According to DGHS, 5,637 more dengue cases were recorded so far this month after 16,856 in September and 52,636 in August...

          The official death toll currently stands at 107

          A total of 251 dengue patients have been admitted to different hospitals across Bangladesh in the last 24 hours.

          Till Monday morning, 89 new patients were admitted in Dhaka and 162 in districts outside Dhaka.

          ...Since January 1 till October 28, as many as 95,372 people have been affected by dengue.

                A total of 149 dengue patients have been admitted to different hospitals across Bangladesh in the last 24 hours...

                ...The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) has received 251 reports of dengue-related deaths across Bangladesh. It has reviewed 179 of them and confirmed 112 deaths from January 1 till November 8.

                However, the unofficial death toll is reported to be over 191, so far.

                Since January 1 till November 8, as many as 97,540 people have been affected by dengue...

                            The government on Monday confirmed 133 deaths caused by dengue in Bangladesh this year since April, the highest-ever figure for a single year after the infection first occurred in 2000 in the country.

                            The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research confirmed the death figure after analysing 211 cases out of the 264 suspected deaths due to the fever.

                            In 2000 dengue claimed the lives of at least 93 people, when doctors in the country did not know how to treat this disease. In 2001 the number of deaths caused by dengue dropped to 44 but rose to 58 in 2002.

                              ...The Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), in a regular update issued on Friday said the number of patients currently undergoing treatment in government and private hospitals in the country are 220.

                              As many as 140 patients are currently receiving treatment in government and private hospitals in Dhaka, whereas 80 people were undergoing treatment outside Dhaka, the DGHS data said.

                              The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) has received 264 reports of dengue-related deaths across Bangladesh. It has reviewed 211 of them and confirmed 133 deaths from January 1 till December 13.

                              Since January 1, till December 13, as many as 100,923 people have been affected by dengue.

                              Among those admitted, a total of 100,439 have been released from their respective hospitals and clinics after treatment.
