    Pangasinan?s dengue, lepto cases on the rise

    DAGUPAN CITY -- The Provincial Health Office (PHO) has advised Pangasinenses to maintain clean surroundings and to immediately seek medical attention for early symptoms, following the 67.14-percent increase in the number of dengue cases and 140.31-percent rise in leptospirosis cases in the province.

    The PHO recorded 7,777 dengue cases in the entire province from Jan. 1 to Nov. 19 this year, 3,124 cases higher than the 4,653 cases during the same period last year, Rodhalia Binay-an, coordinator at the Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit of the PHO, said in an interview Tuesday.

    In August alone, 1,990 cases of dengue were noted with 25 deaths, nine cases higher than the disease?s mortality rate in 2017, Binay-an said.

    The PHO placed under its watch list the cities of Urdaneta with 623 cases; San Carlos, 444; and Alaminos, 434; along with the municipalities of Pozorrubio, 416; Binmaley, 411; Mangaldan, 387; Asingan, 321; Bayambang, 318; Mapandan, 256; and Manaoag, 251...

      Dengue spike in Bohol, Samar alarms DOH

      TAGBILARAN CITY ? The rising number of dengue fever patients in the provinces of Bohol and Northern Samar has alarmed health officials, as cases have surpassed figures recorded last year.

      Records from the Department of Health (DOH)-Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit in Central Visayas showed that dengue cases in Bohol reached 2,057 with 37 deaths from Jan. 1 to Nov. 8.

      The figures were 125.55 percent higher than the 912 cases and five deaths reported over the same period last year.

      The provincial health office (PHO) in Northern Samar recorded 1,073 cases with six deaths from January to Nov. 13 this year...

            Dramatic rise in dengue cases in Cebu Prov noted

            Cebu province experienced a steep rise in the cases of dengue from August to December this year compared to the same period in 2017, the health department announced on Friday.

            The Provincial Health Office (PHO) said there were 3,673 cases of dengue reported from August to December 2018 which is almost 2,000 cases higher than the 1,763 cases recorded in the last five months of last year.

            The PHO data covered the 50 cities and municipalities of Cebu.

            In total, there were 5,093 dengue cases logged for the entire 2018 which is 179 cases higher than the 4,914 recorded in 2017...

              ILOILO ? The Provincial Health Office (PHO) recorded 2,193 dengue cases ? with six deaths ? last year from Jan. 1 to Dec. 22.

              The municipality of Dumangas had the most number of cases at 232 but with no deaths, said PHO chief Dr. Patricia Grace Trabado.

              The Dumangas dengue patients immediately sought medical help so their illness did not worsen, she said...

                Dengue cases rise 106% in Eastern Visayas

                TACLOBAN CITY ? The Department of Health (DOH) in Eastern Visayas recorded a 106-percent increase in dengue cases in the region last year.

                DOH Regional Director Minerva Molon said there were 9,784 cases with 50 deaths.

                The figure was the second highest since 2010 where there were 12,022 dengue cases, Molon said...
