12 deaths due Dengue are reported from Kinniya over the past two and half weeks. Arun Mohan, the Public Health Officer of Trincomalee, added that Kinniya has the highest number of Dengue patients in the country.

Comment: Kinniya is in Trincomalee district. The district has reported 1,320 cases of Dengue to March 10th. That is the 4th highest district after Colombo (4,973), Gampaha (2,544) and Galle (1,339). The official count of fatalities in Sri Lanka is 24. If 12 are from the 1,320 cases in Trincomalee, then, officially, the other 12 came from the 18,787 cases in the rest of the country. Seems odd. - Ro
