        As many as 55 more dengue viral fever cases have been detected in Sindh province in a week, out of which 51 were reported from Karachi, taking the patients toll to 485 in the province since January 2016.

              Nawabshah resident dies of dengue fever

              A 30-year-old man hailing from Nawabshah district became the first casualty of dengue hemorrhagic fever in the province last week when he died at the Liaquat National Hospital (LNH), officials of the Sindh Dengue Prevention and Control Program officials declared on Thursday.

              Wazeer Ahmed, 30, a resident of village Dorr in district Nawabshah, was brought to Liaquat National Hospital on May 23 with high-grade fever. He was given treatment but he died at the hospital on May 26, said Dr Masood Solangi, program manager of the dengue control program.

                Nawabshah resident dies of dengue fever

                Karachi

                A 30-year-old man hailing from Nawabshah district became the first casualty of dengue hemorrhagic fever in the province last week when he died at the Liaquat National Hospital (LNH), officials of the Sindh Dengue Prevention and Control Program officials declared on Thursday...

                ...According to the weekly report of the dengue control program, at least 33 new patients have received treatment in the current week at different hospitals of the city while around 607 patients have so far been diagnosed with dengue fever in Karachi alone.

                The total number of dengue fever patients in the province is around 658.

                However, experts claim that the number of dengue fever patients is much higher since hundreds of patients are visiting private clinics and hospitals.

                  29 cases of dengue reported in a week

                  As many as 29 new cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever were reported in Karachi in the 24th week of the year, and 10 of the patients were admitted to various public and private hospitals in the city while remaining 19 were discharged after treatment in the out-patient departments of the hospitals, officials said.

                  The program manager of the Provincial Dengue Control Programme Sindh, Dr Masood Solangi, said 30 patients had been diagnosed with dengue hemorrhagic fever, 29 from Karachi and one from Khairpur...

                    First death by dengue fever reported in Karachi

                    The first death from dengue fever in 2016 was reported by the Dengue Surveillance Cell, which occurred at a private hospital in Karachi where 58-year-old victim, Fareed-ud-Din succumbed to the deadly virus.

                    Fareed-ud-Din was a resident of Shah Faisal Colony and died in a private clinic during treatment.

                    However, one death by dengue fever was reported from the interior Sindh in June.

                      A 52-year-old man died of dengue fever at a private hospital on Monday, hospital and family sources told The News on Wednesday.

                      Muhammad Ashraf, son of Muhammad Adam, was admitted to a private hospital on Britto Road, Soldier Bazaar, last week due to high grade fever and headache.

                        A child suffering from dengue viral fever died in a private hospital in Karachi on Friday, while 69 other dengue cases were confirmed in the city. Programme Manager, Prevention & Control Programme for Dengue in Sindh, Dr Masood Ahmed Solangi, while talking to PPI, said a 10-year old child Zulfiqar, resident of Gabol Colony Karachi was brought to Aga Khan Hospital on the September 5, and died on September 7. The diagnostics reports confirmed that child had been suffering from dengue fever, he informed.

                          Karachi?s health authorities reported on Friday that a child had died of dengue hemorrhagic fever in the city.

                          Dengue Prevention and Control Program Sindh in-charge Dr Masood Solangi said 10-year-old Zulfiqar Ali, a resident Gabol Town, was taken to the Aga Khan University Hospital on September 5 and his laboratory reports had confirmed that he was suffering from dengue fever.

                          His condition deteriorated and he passed away on the Wednesday evening.

                          Officially, the child is the second person to have died of the mosquito-borne disease in the city this year. However, there are reports that there the overall toll could be four.

                            TAXILA: The health authorities here on Thursday confirmed the death of a teenage girl from the mosquito-borne dengue hemorrhagic fever a day after she was admitted to a government hospital.

                            The patient from the Ismailia village in the Union Council Bhallar Jogi, Hassanabdal, died in a government hospital in Rawalpindi.

                            The 18-year-old first remained under treatment at a private hospital in Hassanabdal from where she was taken to the tehsil headquarters hospital Hassanabdal.
