    232 dengue cases reported in Singapore last week

    ...There were 232 cases of dengue reported last week, up by eight cases from the previous week. Between Sunday and 3.30pm Monday, 34 dengue cases were reported.

    As of Monday, there were also 54 active dengue clusters in Singapore. Eleven clusters were designated as ?red? high-risk areas, including areas around Bowmont Gardens, Geylang Bahru, Tampines Street 41 and Yishun Street 72.

    A total of 7,085 dengue cases have been reported in Singapore since the start of the year...

      79-year-old man dies of dengue, the fifth dengue-related death this year

      SINGAPORE - A 79-year-old dengue patient died on Sunday (May 29) at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, two days after he was first admitted.

      The Singaporean Chinese man had lived at Jalan Tenaga, an area located within an active six-case dengue cluster, the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the National Environment Agency (NEA) said in a joint statement on Sunday.

      He is the fifth reported patient to have died from dengue this year, surpassing the four who died in the whole of 2015. The last death on March 22 was that of a 73-year-old woman who lived at Poh Huat Road West.

        New dengue cases rise again after two-week decline
        There are now 37 active dengue clusters in Singapore, including six classified as high-risk.

        SINGAPORE: A total of 220 new dengue cases were reported in Singapore in the week ending Jun 4, 22 cases more than the week before, according to latest figures published on the National Environment Agency?s (NEA) dengue website.

        Another 25 cases were reported between Jun 5 and 3.30pm on Jun 6.

        A total of 8,373 dengue cases have been reported in Singapore since the start of the year. Five people have died of the disease so far ? a 47-year-old man who lived in Marsiling Rise, a 67-year-old man who lived in Toa Payoh, a 63-year-old woman who lived in Bedok, a 73-year-old woman who lived in Hougang, and in the latest case, a 79-year-old man who lived in Kaki Bukit...

          SINGAPORE ? There were 161 new dengue cases reported in Singapore last week, the lowest weekly total this year.

          The previous lowest this year was 180 cases in the first week of May.

          So far, 8,541 dengue cases have been reported this year, while the authorities have warned that the number could exceed 30,000 ? much higher than the record 22,170 cases in 2013.

          Five people have died of the disease so far...

            Dengue cases climb to 247 in 4th straight week of increase

            SINGAPORE - 247 dengue cases were reported last week, 13 more than the previous week, according to latest figures from the National Environment Agency (NEA)...

            ...According to The Straits Times, another 26 cases of the virus were reported from Sunday (July 10) to 3pm on Monday (July 11).

            In total, 9,417 cases have been reported since the start of 2016...

                72-year-old woman dies of dengue

                SINGAPORE: The Ministry of Health (MOH) and the National Environment Agency (NEA) said on Saturday (Jul 16) that they have been notified of the death of a dengue patient at Changi General Hospital (CGH).

                In a joint media statement, the agencies said that the patient was a 72-year-old Singaporean woman who lived at Simei Street 1. She was admitted to CGH on Jun 22, but her condition deteriorated and she died on Jun 25.

                This is the sixth reported dengue death in Singapore this year.

                  SINGAPORE: The Ministry of Health (MOH) and the National Environment Agency (NEA) said on Thursday (Aug 4) that they have been notified of the death of a dengue patient at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital (MENH).

                  In a joint media statement, the agencies said that the patient was a 79-year-old Singaporean male who lived at Eastwood Drive near Upper East Coast Road. He had been admitted to MENH on Jul 30 but his condition deteriorated and he died on Thursday.

                  This is the seventh reported dengue death in Singapore this year.

                    Dengue cases in Singapore rise again after two-week decline

                    More than 222 new dengue cases were reported in Singapore in the week ending Aug 20, indicating the rise in the number of mosquito-borne virus cases in the nation.

                    According to the latest figures on the National Environment Agency's (NEA) dengue website, 210 and 198 cases were reported respectively in the previous two weeks. Apart from the new 222 cases, another 39 cases were reported between Aug 21 and 3pm on Aug 22.

                    Since the beginning of this year, a total of 10,769 dengue cases have been reported in Singapore. The reports show that the count crossed the 10,000 mark at the starting of August.

                    Seven people have already died of dengue fever this year, while five people died in 2015...

                      11-year-old male succumbs to dengue fever at KKH, eighth death this year

                      An 11-year-old male dengue patient had earlier passed away due to dengue infection at the KK Women?s and Children?s Hospital (KKH) on 30 August this year.

                      According to a joint release by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the National Environment Agency (NEA), the boy was admitted to KKH on 30 August 2016 and passed away on the same day. His death was looked through by the State Coroner and the cause of death was declared and informed to MOH on 11 October 2016.

                      The patient's residence at Woodleigh Close was declared an active 2-case dengue cluster on 6 September. However, as NEA detected no breeding there and had closed the cluster since 14 September...

                        SINGAPORE - The number of new dengue cases has fallen to a new low for the year, according to the latest figures from the National Environment Agency's dengue website.

                        There were 125 cases of the mosquito-borne virus last week - 12 fewer than the previous week.

                        It was the fifth straight week that the weekly figure had declined.

                          SINGAPORE - The Health Ministry will no longer be issuing updates each time an individual dies of dengue, it said on Monday (Oct 17).

                          Starting next year, statistics on dengue-related deaths will be published in a quarterly report instead.

                          These statistics will be made available on the ministry's website as well as the official dengue website.

                            SINGAPORE - The number of new dengue cases last week remained below the 100 mark as the National Environment Agency (NEA) urged the public to keep up the momentum in the fight against the mosquito-borne virus.

                            According to statistics on the NEA's dengue website, there were 86 cases reported last week - three more than the previous week.

                            As of Monday (Nov 7), a total of 12,542 cases of the dengue virus have been reported since the start of 2016 - more than the 11,286 cases in the whole of last year...

                              An 81-year-old Singaporean has died of dengue fever at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

                              In a joint statement yesterday, the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the National Environment Agency (NEA) said the resident of Mandai Estate was admitted to the hospital on Oct 25. His condition deteriorated and he died on Monday. He is the ninth person to die of dengue this year.

                                SINGAPORE: The number of new dengue cases stayed below 100 for the third straight week last week, with 86 cases reported in the week ending Nov 12.

                                That's one more than the previous week, according to latest figures from the National Environment Agency (NEA).
