    One more patient diagnosed with Congo virus in Karachi

    KARACHI (Dunya News) ? A 25-year-old youngster Safdar, resident of Sarjani Town Karachi, was brought to Jinnah Hospital on suspicion of Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic fever, commonly referred to as Congo fever, on Wednesday, Dunya News reported.

    According to Executive Director of Jinnah Hospital Dr Simi Jamali, the blood samples of the affected person were sent to laboratory for test and found positive for the disease.

    This is the second case of Congo virus this year in Karachi...

      Two suspected Congo fever patients were admitted to a Quetta hospital Sunday night.

      Noorullah Moosakhail, the medical superintendent of Fatima Jinnah Chest and General Hospital, said that two patients came to the hospital with symptoms similar to Congo fever. Their samples have been taken and sent to the laboratory.

      The patients have been moved to the hospital?s isolation ward and their symptoms are being monitored...

        2 Congo virus cases reported in Balochistan

        With Eidul Azha less than two weeks away, officials in Balochistan reported two Congo virus cases on Thursday.

        The cases were confirmed by Dr Sadiq Baloch, additional medical superintendent at Quetta's Fatima Jinnah Chest and General Hospital. He said the two patients had been placed in an isolation ward.

        "Their condition is stable," he said. According to the official, one of the patients was an 11-year-old boy from Chaman while the other was a 40-year-old man from Loralai.

        He said both patients came to the hospital complaining of fever and bleeding from the mouth. Baloch added that during the last one-and-a-half month, seven Congo virus patients were brought to the facility.

        Crimean Congo haemorrhagic fever, or Congo virus, is a viral infection transmitted by ticks to both animals and humans. The virus is transmitted by ticks living on the skin of goats, cows, buffalos and camels, feeding on their blood. The disease is rare in infected animals, who mostly act as carriers of the disease which they transmit...

          QUETTA (Dunya News) - A resident of Gawalmandi Chowk area of Quetta was brought to Fatima Jinnah Chest and General Hospital on suspicion of Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic fever, commonly referred to as Congo fever, on Sunday, Dunya News reported.

          The blood samples of the affected person was sent to laboratory for test and found positive for the disease. It is pertinent to mention here that six persons were brought to hospital on suspicion of Congo virus out of which four were found positive for the disease...

                Karachi reports two deaths from Congo fever

                Alarm bells started ringing for Karachi after the city reported two deaths from the Congo virus in a week.

                According to the Sindh Health Department, the patients were from District Central’s FC Area and Defence. Doctors said the victims showed symptoms of a week-long fever and vomit with blood.

                Feroz, one of the victims of the Congo fever, lived a few minutes away from a cattle market. The Sindh Health Department has accused the livestock department of a rise in the number of Congo virus cases.

                Last year, four people in Karachi succumbed their lives to the virus...

                  Congo virus suspected patient dies in RYK

                  RAHIM YAR KHAN: A patient suspected of Congo virus has breathed his last, while three other suspected patients are under treatment at the Sheikh Zayed Medical College (SZMC), a tertiary healthcare institution, in Rahim Yar Khan, Bol news reported.

                  Residents of the area apprised that the deceased, Haider Ali Qassab, was a resident of Basti Amanat Ali and he had sever fever for last four days.

                  The spokesperson of SZMC said three more patients suspected to be suffering from Congo virus were shifted in isolation ward of the hospital. He said samples of their blood had been sent to the National Institute of Health for inspection and it could be confirmed after receiving their report if they were suffering from Congo virus or not...

                    QUETTA: Four suspected cases of Congo hemorrhagic fever were brought to a hospital here, one of which found to be patient of the deadly disease, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

                    Four patients were brought to Fatima Jinnah Hospital of Quetta in suspicion of Congo Fever, and the virus was confirmed one of them.

                    The patient, identified as Noor Ali, has been an Afghan national settled in Quetta.

                      PESHAWAR: The cases of Congo fever are on the rise in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as one of the four patients admitted to Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) Peshawar died of the disease.

                      The health department has asked the relevant officials in all the districts of the province to send specimens from the suspected patients to the public health reference laboratory at Khyber Medical University.

                      The health experts have warned the people against coming into close contact with animals at cattle markets or during sacrificial rituals on Eidul Azha.                         PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2022 ) :The Integrated Diseases Surveillance and Response Unit of the Health Department KP on Friday released an advisory report regarding Congo virus which says so far six cases of Congo fever have been reported across the province.

                        According to the report, treatment of two patients, from Lower Kurram detected with Congo virus, was underway at the hospital. An Afghan national who was also found affected with the virus, had been discharged from the hospital after recovery.

                        The results of the medical test of a suspected patient from Peshawar were yet to be received, the report said, adding that no confirmation of Congo virus infection was reported in a suspected patient from the Mathra area who died some days ago...
