Outbreak of C. difficile Declared at St. Mary?s General Hospital
Enhanced cleaning is underway.
Kitchener ? In cooperation with Waterloo Region Public Health, St. Mary?s General Hospital declared an outbreak of C. difficile on four inpatient units Friday evening.
The outbreak was declared on Inpatient Cardiac and General Surgery (3W), Cardiology (3E) and the Chest Unit (600) and the Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit. In the affected areas, dedicated nursing is being provided for all positive cases and all patients are in isolation...
