    Hospital declares all out blitz on C. difficile

    PETERBOROUGH -- Peterborough Regional Health Centre is pulling out all the stops in an effort to control a Clostridium difficult (CDI) outbreak.

    The hospital declared a hospital-wide outbreak on Tuesday morning (Jan. 28) after it saw an increase in the number of cases of the infection for three consecutive months.     C. Difficile outbreak declared over at Peterborough Regional Health Centre

    PETERBOROUGH -- The Peterborough Regional Health Centre is no longer battling a C. Difficile (CDI) outbreak.

    According to hospital staff, who've monitored cases of the infection diligently since an outbreak was declared in January, there's been less than five cases of the infection acquired at the hospital over the past four months. That's down from roughly 14 cases in February...
