Barrie's RVH has declared a suspect outbreak of C. difficile, a bacterium commonly found in hospitals and long-term care facilities.

The number of new Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre patients testing positive for C. difficile has increased in April to six hospital-acquired cases...

There is a facility-wide outbreak of C. difficile at Barrie's Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre.

Over the weekend, there were two new hospital-acquired cases, bringing the total in April to eight cases.

Strategies are being put in place to contain the spread of C. difficile...
