578 Suspected Cholera Cases Reported in Haiti

A total of 578 suspected cases of cholera, including 12 deaths, were reported in June this year in Haiti, according to the report of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

According to the entity, the figure represents a decrease of 15 percent of those affected with respect to the same period of 2017, however, there continue to be occasional outbreaks, especially in the departments of Artibonite, Central and West, and more sporadically in the Northeast.

It also points out that the most affected areas are located in Artibonite and Centro, where the incidence of 181 and 216 suspected cases was registered, respectively.
