    Malaria, Cholera Claim Five Lives In Apa IDP Camp

    Five children have so far died from cholera and malaria fever outbreak at the IDP camp in Apa Local Government Area, following herdsmen attack on Agatu communities since February 2016.

    Cholera Kills 76 In Ebonyi ? Commissioner

    The Ebonyi State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Daniel Umuzuruike on Wednesday said that within 5 months the state witnessed outbreak of Cholera, 76 persons were killed by the dreaded disease that ravaged 38 communities in 11 local government areas.

    Dr. Umezuruike who confirmed the deaths during a press briefing on the success so far recorded by the ministry since assumption of office of the present administration said that apart from the 76 deaths from Cholera, 14 other patients died of Lassa fever.

    The Commissioner stated that there is no more case of Cholera outbreak in the state and assured that the ministry would continue to sustain the surveillance effort to avert its recurrences...

      Six Die as Cholera Outbreak Hits Lagos Community

      Lagos State Government says it has recorded six deaths from cholera outbreak out of 45 cases in some communities in Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

      Dr Jide Idris, the State Commissioner for Health, who made the disclosure on Thursday at a news conference in Lagos, however, was not specific about the timing of the incident.

      Idris said that state government was already taking appropriate measures and had contained the outbreak.

      According to him, the ministry was notified of an upsurge of diarhoea diseases in some communities in Isolo LCDA.
