    The number of measles cases since the start of the year is more than three times that of the same period last year, but no deaths have been reported, said the Ministry of Health (MOH).

    In the first 11 weeks of the year, there were 38 cases of measles, compared with 11 cases last year.

    It is also the highest number recorded for the first 11-week period since 2015...

    SINGAPORE - There were 43 measles cases in the first four months of this year, nearly three times the number seen during the same period last year, said Health Minister Gan Kim Yong on Tuesday (May 7).

    All were sporadic or had a limited spread and there was no community outbreak, he said, adding that the cases were a result of increased measles outbreaks around the world, as Singapore, being a travel hub, is more exposed to imported cases...

      SINGAPORE ? A total of 17 people were infected with measles in recent weeks, including foreign workers at a dormitory in Punggol as well as employees and residents at a home for persons with intellectual disability in Hougang.

      In a statement released on Tuesday (July 23), the Ministry of Health (MOH) said that 14 cases were detected at Mindsville@Napiri in Hougang, while the other three cases were found at S11 Dormitory located at Seletar North Link.

      MOH said: ?There is currently no evidence of community spread from these cases. Nonetheless, the ministry took precautionary measures to prevent further spread of the disease.?...

        Measles cases on rise in recent weeks with 116 cases so far this year: MOH

        SINGAPORE: The number of measles cases in Singapore has increased in recent weeks with 17 new cases at two separate locations, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) in a media release on Tuesday (Jul 23).

        This brings the total number of measles cases this year to 116 as of Jul 22, said the ministry.

        While there is currently no evidence of community spread from these new cases, MOH said it has taken precautionary measures to prevent further spread.

        "These include vaccination of close contacts who do not have proof of vaccination or immunity, and close monitoring of the health of close contacts," said MOH, adding that all suspected measles cases will be isolated.

        MOH said that out of all the cases this year, 88 were local and 28 were imported from Bangladesh, Dubai, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam...

          Measles cases in Singapore hit 149 amid global increase

          SINGAPORE: The number of measles cases in Singapore has hit the highest level since an outbreak in 1997, figures from the Ministry of Health on Thursday (Oct 24) showed.

          According to the latest weekly infectious diseases bulletin published on Thursday, there were 149 measles cases in Singapore as of Oct 19.

          That is more than four times the number of cases for the whole of 2018, when there were 34.

          The number of measles cases in Singapore hit 1,413 in 1997, before the Government introduced the two-dose MMR vaccination schedule in 1998. The number of cases fell to just 114 that year...
