(Bettiah) Measles 245 cases 07 fatalities 15-12-18 Under
Surveillance
A total of 25 cases of fever with rash, cough
coryza, conjunctivitis reported from Village
Jogapatti, PHC Jogapatti, APHC Nawalpur in 2nd
week (week ending 13th January 2019). Further a
total of 220 cases and 7 deaths were reported.
District RRT investigated the outbreak. House to
house survey done. Affected children were less
than 15yrs of age. 7 deaths occurred in 4 female
and 4 male children. (sic) All the deaths occurred in
children’s less than 7yrs of age group. Out of 5
blood samples collected and sent to Microbiology
Department, PMCH Patna; 3 samples was
positive for Measles (IgM ELISA). All children
were unimmunized for measles vaccine. All cases
treated symptomatically. Health education given
regarding isolation of cases and personal hygiene.

Champaran. Total 35 cases reported in which all of them
belongs to under 15year age group. Immunization status
unknown. The affected community belongs to low socio
economic group and having unhygienic practices. Five blood
and two urine samples have been collected and send to
Microbiology department (Lab.), PMCH Patna.

between 12 months - 17yrs of age. 5 blood samples, 5 urine
samples and 5 throat samples were collected and sent to
PMCH; all the samples were positive for Measles (IgM
ELISA). All cases treated symptomatically. Vitamin A
supplementation provided to affected children. Community
was sensitized to complete routine immunization to their
children. Health education given regarding isolation.

block medical team visited the spot& investigated the
outbreak. Active surveillance carried out .During the survey

immunization to their children. All cases treated
