How 2 Michigan kids tested positive for measles, but didn't have disease
                            Kristen Jordan Shamus, Detroit Free Press Published 10:23 a.m. ET April 12, 2019 | Updated 11:03 a.m. ET April 12, 2019

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services announced Friday that it is reducing the state's 2019 tally of measles cases by two, saying further testing has shown children previously thought to have the measles actually do not.

The children's symptoms and initial test results classified them as measles cases, but the agency followed the protocol of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and conducted additional genotype testing.

That genotype testing showed that the children do not have measles. The remaining 39 cases in Michigan have also been genotyped and are confirmed cases...
