    Public warned over measles outbreak in Donegal

    The Health Service Executive has confirmed an outbreak of measles in Co Donegal and is advising that people who are diagnosed with it should stay away from school, college, work and public places for four days following the onset of their rash in order to prevent further infections.

    According to the HSE the outbreak has a link to a third-level institution in Galway and so far there have been two confirmed cases...

    Measles outbreak continues in Donegal

    The HSE has confirmed today that they are continuing to deal with a measles outbreak in Donegal.

    Last week two cases were confirmed with a link to a third level institution in Galway. Today, the body says 3 more probable cases have been identified and they are investigating several other possible cases.

    The HSE is asking anyone who has symptoms of the disease to contact their GP in the first instance to enable the GP to make special arrangements for the patient to attend the surgery...

      A measles outbreak in Co Donegal is growing with the HSE now saying that there are seven cases of the disease confirmed. Further suspect cases are currently being investigated.

          HSE warns of measles outbreak in Dublin

          The Health Service Executive has confirmed an outbreak of measles in Dublin, with ten cases identified since February.

          Anyone who thinks they may have the illness is being advised to stay at home and to contact their GP for advice.

          The HSE said it is a community outbreak of measles affecting adults and children.

          They said recent cases have involved young adults working in Dublin city centre in the areas of Parnell Street, Dame Street and Baggot Street.

          Travel to France was identified as a risk...

            Measles cases continue to rise in Ireland

            48 measles cases were reported in Ireland in the first 15 weeks of this year.

            It comes amid news that 169m children worldwide have missed out on the measles vaccine in the last eight years.

            The HSE is reminding people of the importance of getting vaccinated

            Ireland has seen a 244% increase in measles cases in the last three years.

            According to UNICEF Ireland, there were 86 cases here last year, up from 25 on the previous year...

                Measles outbreak confirmed in Offaly

                The Department of Public Health Midlands has been notified of a small number of cases of measles at the Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore.

                The cases were confirmed in September but authorities say there is no evidence of further spread in recent weeks.

                Local GPs, MIDOC and Hospital Emergency Departments have been informed...
