A Cobb County middle schooler diagnosed with measles exposed other unvaccinated students to the highly contagious disease, the Georgia Public Health Department said Monday.

School district officials confirmed that the student attended Mabry Middle School. The quaratine covers the period when symptoms of the disease would appear and also covers the period a person with measles would be contagious.

          Rosie Manins 3 min ago

Another three cases of measles have been confirmed in Cobb County, following the confirmation last week that a Mabry Middle School student had the highly infectious virus.

“Testing is underway on another possible case,” the Georgia Department of Public Health stated in a news release Friday. “At least two of the individuals with measles are unvaccinated, and the vaccination history of the third is unclear.”
